Here are the photos from my August 12th mushroom hunt in the Rio Grande National
Forest.
These photos were taken during a camping trip in the San Juan and La Garita Mountains. The area in the San Juans
close to Wolf Creek pass was extremely dry. I went to a spot where we found lots of Boletus Edulis in 2006 and there was
nothing! North of the Rio Grande in the La Garita range however there was an abundance of different mushrooms. It seems
there was much more moisture just to the north this year. I am also hearing similar reports from other people. |
