AUGUST 1st 2009 - MUSHROOM HUNT

Here are the photos from my August 1st mushroom hunt in Black Forest near Monument Colorado. There were tons of mushrooms mostly Russulas. I had the intention of hunting Boletus Barrowsii but came out with good harvest of Lobster Mushrooms instead. The elevation is at 7300ft. This is a good area to be hunting right now after last weeks rains. If your lucky enough to find some Russula Brevipes under Ponderosa pines you will likely find some Lobster mushrooms sticking out of the pine needles like orange peels.
