These were found at about 9500 feet around the East Vail Chutes no guide I own has them? Kind of soft, almost feels a little hollow in the stem. I'm thinking of a Lactarius of type?

I'm not entirely sure but it looks a bit like a blackening Russula. Check out Russula nigricans and relatives.
