Habitat
Grows at lower elevations usually near water with Cottonwood trees. They are very common in the city along small streams in the spring. Look on fallen logs, old stumps and dead trees.
Description
This is one of the most abundant spring mushrooms. They are usually found while looking for Blonde Morels. They are most commonly growing on dead Cottonwood logs and rotting stumps where there is abundant moisture. They can begin fruiting in March some years and continue all the way into late May.
