Habitat

Grows on Juniper trees throughout Colorado and the southwest.

Description

A Shelf like conk growing from Juniper in dryer areas of Colorado. Given the name I assume it can be used as a tinder fungus similarly to Phellinus igniarius. P. demidoffii is a similar European species.
