Location: Monarch Pass, Colorado Habitat: Under Conifers at high elevations. Edibility: Edible Color: White
Description:
Said to be edible, possibly bitter tasting and somewhat tough and leathery. These are regarded as a fine edible in other countries such as Sweden. These were found around Monarch Pass area. In Fall 2006 they were numerous. I found an entire hillside of them. Very similar to Albatrellus confluens.
