Location: Colorado
Spore Print: Black
Edibility: Inedible
Habitat:
Grows on dung at most elevations. Usually in mid-August.

Description:
This mushroom is easiest to identify once it gets to this stage and has the skirt like ring round the base of the cap. Before it gets to this stage it is easily confused with other Panaeolus species such as Panaeolus semiovatus which also grows on dung.

Some refer to this mushroom as a "magic mushroom". Most sources however state that this mushroom contains little to no hallucinogenic compounds.
