Habitat

Usually found at lower elevations in the city at the base of trees or stumps usually cottonwood or growing from buried rotten wood. Deliquescing (liquefying to ink) with age.

Description

Very similar to the Alcohol Inky but smaller in size, with small scales on the cap and with a more tan / brown color. Typically found in large clusters. Very common in the spring into early summer.
